St. Joseph Hospital partnered with OneLegacy during the month of April to celebrate National Donate Life Month. On Wednes-day, April 9, caregivers gathered at the main hospital lawn for the Donate Life Flag Raising Ceremony, which honors the generosity of those who have saved and healed lives by becoming donors, while also highlighting the importance and critical need for people to register as donors.
In 2024, organ donors from SJO resulted in trans-plantation of 4 lungs, 2 livers and 8 kidneys for a total of 14 lives saved. In addition, donors gave the gift of sight to 41 patients, with tissue donors giving the gift of healing to 2100 patients.
