Welcoming Katie Webster, MSN, RN, CPHQ

Please join me in welcoming Katie Webster, MSN, RN, CPHQ as the new Chief Nursing Officer at St. Joseph Hospital. Katie will officially step into her new role on Monday, August 11.

A familiar face within the Providence family, Katie currently serves as Chief Nursing Officer at Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro, a role she’s held since March 2024.

Katie joined the San Pedro team in 2009 as a critical care RN; she began her leadership journey there as an Assistant Nurse Manager in the Critical Care Unit in 2016. She spent the last 9 years leading across multiple disciplines, including acute care, emergency services, behavioral health, and sub-acute care.

Katie is ready to hit the ground running. In her own words, her immediate priorities are to:

• Appreciate the culture and people
• Build effective and trusting relationships
• Understand the perspectives, priorities and concerns of our teams

Looking ahead, her long-term goals include:

• Evaluating and enhancing recruitment and retention efforts
• Strengthening leadership development across nursing teams
• Assessing the current state of the nursing profession and refreshing pathways for professional advancement
• Aligning the nursing strategic vision with our broader organizational goals
• Building stronger internal and external partnerships

Katie lives in Orange County with her husband of 16 years and their three children (ages 14, 11, and 9). A lifelong athlete, she enjoys volleyball, basketball, softball, and rowing—and is a proud USC Trojan, especially passionate about USC football and women’s basketball (FIGHT ON!).

In her free time, Katie loves a good meal with family and friends, pool days, backyard BBQs, late nights around the fire pit, and the occasional spa day.
