How do I sign up for Marvin?

Head to meetmarvin.com to get started. We’ll match you with a therapist who fits your needs, based upon your preferences for their background or demographics, your availability, and your goals for the therapy relationship.

Who is eligible to use Marvin?

All medical staff members and their family members 18+ are eligible for Marvin.

Is there a session limit?

No, there is no limit to your sessions! Your sessions, including length and frequency, are determined based upon your needs and the clinical judgment of your provider.

Is Marvin confidential?

Yes, Marvin sessions are 100% confidential, HIPAA-compliant, and end-to-end encrypted. We use the same security technology that banks use, keeping you and your data safe and secure. Click the links to read our privacy policy and our notice of privacy practices.

Who are Marvin therapists?

All Marvin clinicians are fully licensed, including MDs, psychologists and masters level, with an average of 10 years experience working in a healthcare setting. Each therapist participates in Marvin Academy, a 5-week training program, to better serve our unique client base, and our team includes providers of color and Spanish speakers.

Can I use my insurance with Marvin?

Yes, Marvin is accepted by most insurance companies in the U.S. When you sign up, we will collect your insurance info and confirm what your per session fee will be before your first session. You can also pay for Marvin sessions out-of-pocket for $95 per session. If you need financial support, you can apply for a Marvin scholarship.

Does Marvin provide couples and family counseling?

Yes! You can indicate which type of counseling you are looking for when you sign up for Marvin. If you are already engaged in 1:1 therapy, email us at user-success@meetmarvin.com and we will match you with a couples or family therapist.

What can I expect at my first session?

During your first session, you and your therapist will work together to understand your specific needs, and ensure that the relationship is a good fit. If you or your therapist determine that Marvin is not the right fit, we will set you up to receive the care you need, which can include a referral to another provider.

How do I log in to Marvin?

You can log in to Marvin to join your sessions, adjust your schedule, and more online, using any device and any browser, at meetmarvin.com/login.

Are Marvin session times flexible?

Our therapists offer flexible session hours outside the typical 9-5 hour – in the evening, on the weekends, and even late at night. In addition, you can connect with a licensed therapist 24/7 on our hotline, at 888-404-1163.

Can I change therapists?

Yes! We are strong believers in feedback-informed therapy. We’ll help you provide feedback to your therapist on the therapy relationship, including topics of focus, tools you practice, and communication. Your therapy relationship, especially the initial 3-5 sessions, is a driver of therapy success. If you don’t believe that your therapist is the right one for you, log into Marvin and select “Change Therapist”, or email our team at user-success@meetmarvin.com.

Do Marvin clinicians prescribe medication?

Our clinicians do not prescribe medication. However, if you would like to connect with a psychiatrist, we can refer you to a psychiatrist or primary care physician in your area who accepts your insurance. Our team can also help you schedule the initial appointment.
