SJO recently completed its triennial Community Health Needs Assessment, bringing together community members, caregivers and local leaders to better understand the region’s most pressing health needs and identify opportunities to improve health outcomes. The Community Health team hosted seven multilingual listening sessions in English, Spanish and Vietnamese in partnership with trusted community organizations. Participants shared perspectives on what makes a healthy community, greatest challenges facing their neighborhoods and resources already available. The team conducted 15 key informant interviews with health care, nonprofit, faith and community leaders for insights into local health disparities and unmet needs. These community voices will help guide future investments, partnerships and programs to improve health and well-being of communities served.
