We’re pleased to share that we have completed our Joint Commission survey and that the survey was successful.
While we have a small number of findings to address in the coming weeks, this was an incredibly strong survey and a reflection of the excellent work happening across our campus.
First and foremost, thank you to every caregiver who played a role in preparing for and supporting this important week. Earlier this year, we committed ourselves to a mock core survey that helped strengthen our readiness, and that preparation paid off. The work you put in beforehand helped position us for success today.
Throughout the survey, the surveyors consistently recognized something we all know makes this place special: our culture. Time and again, they called out our caregivers’ commitment to our Mission and values, sharing that it was not only evident, but palpable throughout the campus.
One moment that stood out came from our physician surveyor, who shared that after visiting healthcare organizations across the country, he would not hesitate — without a single shadow of a doubt — to receive care here at St. Joseph Hospital. In particular, he stated we are among “the very best” he has seen, and that is an extraordinary testament to the quality of care delivered here every day.
Just as importantly, this week demonstrated the power of teamwork. Our hope is that we carry this same momentum forward. When we work together with this level of collaboration and shared purpose, there is no limit to what we can accomplish.
Finally, we want to extend special thanks to accreditation program manager Valerie Hastings, our Quality team, our Facilities team who “impressed the heck” out of the surveyors, our scribes, escorts, physicians, leaders and every single caregiver who helped make this week a success. A survey of this magnitude truly takes a village, and we also want to recognize our System partners whose expertise, partnership and guidance supported us throughout this process.
We could not be prouder of what we accomplished together.
Thank you, and congratulations St. Joe’s on a job well done.
