A warm welcome to our new Quality Executive Director

We’re pleased to share that Teresa C. Torres, DNP, RN has joined Providence as Quality Executive Director at St. Joseph Hospital.

Teresa joins us with extensive experience leading quality and regulatory programs across large health systems, with a strong background in patient safety, accreditation readiness and hospital performance improvement.

Throughout her career, she has built a reputation for helping organizations strengthen clinical quality and improve outcomes while working closely with physicians, nursing leaders and frontline teams. She brings a thoughtful, hands-on leadership style and a deep understanding of the work required to build and sustain a culture focused on excellence.

Most recently, Teresa served as System Director of Quality at Baptist Healthcare, where she oversaw quality, regulatory and infection prevention efforts across a 26-hospital system. In that role, she helped lead performance improvement efforts tied to CMS Star Ratings, Value-Based Purchasing and other key quality measures that directly impact patient care and organizational performance.

Her background also includes prior experience within Providence, including time spent at Mission Hospital, giving her a strong understanding of our organization and the commitment to excellence that defines our ministries.

At St. Joseph Hospital, our commitment to quality remains central to who we are and the care we provide every day. Teresa brings valuable experience that will help strengthen that work as we continue building on the strong foundation already in place.
