HEART RECOVERY REUNION: Stories of Survival

HEART RECOVERY REUNION: Stories of Survival

Providence St. Joseph Hospital Orange hosted the second annual Heart Recovery Reunion on March 23 to honor caregivers and innovative therapies, and most importantly, celebrating the survival of three patients in our community.

Steve Pham (back, center) husband, father, and traffic engineer from Orange, admitted July 20, 2025 and discharged July 23, 2025.

Jorge Garcia (in hat), 48-year-old male who is a local business owner in Orange admitted Oct. 18, 2025 and discharged Oct. 21, 2025.

Kathleen Leboeuf (foreground), 79-year-old wife, mother and student supervisor in Orange, CA admitted Dec. 3, 2025 and discharged Jan. 5, 2026.

All three patients arrived at St. Joseph Hospital suffering heart attacks complicated by cardiogenic shock. Through extraordinary, coordinated efforts—and the culmination of education, preparation, compassionate care, and teamwork at SJO—they beat the odds and survived.

The event served as a powerful reminder that the work we do each day has a profound impact on our community. A special thank you to JNJ Meditech Heart Recovery who partnered with us on the event. Their passion for heart recovery and the partnership that theyprefere provide us have been an integral part of our team's growth and ability to deliver this lifesaving care.
